SOUL TREE.

A checkup for the whole person, from root to fruit.

A spiritual health checkup built from real chaplain work. Six parts, one tree, one whole you.

Read Grounded.

Have you ever known a person, or perhaps been a person, who gives the impression that everything is good, but you sense it would only take one small bump in the road before the house of cards comes tumbling down? It takes one to know one. I lived this way for a long time, and I have met countless others who have felt the same.

The answer is resilience: your ability to bounce back when something unexpected and unwanted occurs. The key is strengthening the different parts of your life, so when one part is injured, the healthy parts provide support for real healing and a return to wholeness.

A person is a lot like a tree. A healthy tree is not healthy because of one part. It needs roots that hold, a trunk that carries, bark that heals, branches that reach, leaves that breathe, and fruit that carries the future. Soul Tree looks at all six parts of you, from root to fruit.

The six parts of your tree

Tap any part of the tree.

One Rule

Name each resource in only one part of your tree. If your family gives you hope, they still belong in the Branches, not the Fruit. This constraint reveals your true resources in each part, and where you may be leaning on one part of the tree to carry weight it was never meant to hold alone.

Who made this

I'm Chris, a hospice chaplain. Grounded. exists to support caregivers, normalize hospice, and care for the bereaved. I built Soul Tree from years of sitting with people at the end of their lives and watching which parts of them held when everything else gave way.

Grounded. is where I write those stories down. The man who swore at my badge, then asked me to pray. The woman who hadn't spoken in three days, dancing to Drift Away. Real stories from the edge of life.

We start at the roots and climb. For each part, move the slider from 1 (depleted) to 10 (thriving), and use the reflection space to name your actual resources.

Your Care Plan

Choose 1 to 3 practices for each part of your tree. This becomes your personal plan, the practical next step that turns your checkup into real growth.

Finish your checkup first so your care plan can reflect your actual results.

My Progress Over Time

Each time you take the checkup, save your results to a file on your phone or computer. Load that file here to watch your tree grow: your score over time, your tree, and every result side by side.

Your file stays with you. It holds your scores and reflections, and nothing is sent anywhere. Keep it somewhere private. Load it before you save a new result so everything stays in one file.

Automatic saving across all your devices is coming with Grounded Membership. Subscribe to Grounded. to hear when it opens.

Clients
Your records stay on this device. Sessions are saved only in this browser, on this computer. Nothing is sent to Grounded or anyone else. Clearing your browser data or switching devices will remove them, so download a backup regularly. Use initials or a client code rather than full names.

Safety First

If a client discloses suicidal ideation, a plan, intent, or means, pause the assessment and follow your organization's crisis protocol immediately. In the US, the 988 Suicide and Crisis Lifeline (call or text 988) is available. This tool does not replace clinical risk assessment or your organization's required reporting procedures.
